    • Hip Hop Therapy organization that utilizes hip hop as a catalyst for youth change and development.
      This is an exciting paid internship opportunity for youth aged 18-24 who are residents of Alameda County.
      The Prevention Pathway Program Internship is a 10 month commitment that takes place on Tuesdays and Thursdays totaling 12 hours a week.
      The internship will provide:
      – A monthly stipend of $800.
      – Job placement assistance upon program completion.
      – Skills and experience in facilitation and clinical group work.
      – Field exposure to professionals in the social service field.
      – Access to an employment specialist, case management, and free individual therapy.
      – Opportunities to mentor Alameda youth through our Hip Hop Therapy model.
      – Artist and song development, recording, and performance preparation.
      The Prevention Pathway Program Internship will welcome its second cohort of interns in January of 2022 using a virtual and in-person hybrid. We will be accepting applications on a rolling basis, so please don’t let the start date deter you from referring youth who may need to start later (due to age or availability).
      This internship will provide meaningful and fun experiences preparing youth for job roles such as youth counselor, teaching assistant, youth program coordinator, peer specialist, residential youth care worker, adult day program assistant, and many more. There’s even potential for an intern to be hired as a peer specialist at BRL if it’s the right fit! The internship will also provide valuable experience for youth considering a bachelor’s degree in social work, social welfare, counseling, public health, and more.
