    • English in Action – English-in-Action (EIA) is part of a nationwide program in which volunteers meet with Berkeley students, visiting scholars and their partners, students from adult school and local community colleges, on a one-to-one basis or in small groups, to increase participants’ competency in the English language, by practicing conversational English once a week.     • Communications Team – Join the YWCA Comms Team, a group of dedicated volunteers who are interested in advancing racial and gender justice in our communities. Our team shares the YWCA message of eliminating racism and empowering women across social media manages the YWCA blog and maintains the YWCA website. No experience is necessary!     • Sidekicks: Adaptive Programming – Teen Sidekicks are truly committed and enjoy working closely with special needs students, befriending them, sharing lunch and activities, or helping them successfully integrate into mainstream programs. Teen Sidekicks attend a 2-hour orientation/training to learn about special needs and the basic principles of behavior management. Sidekicks are paired with a camper with special needs and will meet with their camper buddy and a family member before the camp begins to better understand the individual child’s needs. Together, they attend a PRD summer camp (1-week), creating lasting memories and having the time of their lives.
