How can I participate in the Post-Commencement Celebration?

Please RSVP to this event by Wednesday, April 27th to indicate that you will be there.

When is the deadline to submit my petition to a counselor?

The deadline has now passed.

Will I be able to purchase a cap and gown?

If you would like to purchase a cap and gown, you may order online through the BCC’s Bookstore and pick it up on campus. Each graduate will be receiving a free tassel and zipper pull during the celebration so you may opt out of purchasing the tassel and zipper pulls.

When will I be able to receive my degree?

You will be able to pick up your degree during the Fall 2022 semester.

Information Regarding Honors

Associate Degree candidates with the following cumulative grade point averages at the end of the Fall 2021 semester will be recognized at graduation as follows:

3.25 – 3.49                        Cum Laude, With Honors

3.50 – 3.74                        Magna Cum Laude, With High Honors

3.75 – 4.00                        Summa Cum Laude, With Highest Honors

Please be reminded that this is a cumulative grade point average reflecting ALL COLLEGE WORK through Fall 2021. This includes college work completed at Peralta. Again, Certificate recipients are not eligible for honors.

For those students graduating with Associate Degrees in June 2022, your cumulative GPA will be recalculated once grades from Spring 2022 semester are finalized. If at that time you qualify for honors, your transcript will be appropriately noted.

Each year a class valedictorian and salutatorian are chosen from the candidates for the Associate Degree. Certificate candidates are not eligible.

All students who will receive summa cum laude, with highest honors will be eligible to be selected as class valedictorian & salutatorian. Both class valedictorian & salutatorian will be selected among this group and will be asked to deliver speeches at commencement.
