California Promise

Berkeley City College is proud to provide the California College Promise Grant and be a strategic partner with the Berkeley Promise, Oakland Promise, and Richmond Promise. In collaboration with these Promise programs, we provide extra support to get you to and through college. These supports include: covering the cost of course fees, placement in First Year Experience Learning Community, transfer focused activities, peer-mentoring and most important – Community.
To take advantage of the resources, Berkeley City College and each Promise program require the completion of the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FASFA) or California Dream Act.

 

Promise Programs

California College Promise Grant

For eligible students , the California College Promise is a grant that will waive your per unit enrollment fee at any California Community College. Learn more about the California Promise grant. click here

Berkeley Promise

The Berkeley Promise is a college scholarship initiative designed to help Berkeley Unified School District graduates-particularly those who are first-generation-to-college, from lower-income families or from underrepresented groups-advance on a path to complete a post-secondary degree or certificate, that starts with community college. Oakland Promise

Oakland Promise provides Oakland Unified School District High School graduates with financial support to address the cost barrier that discourages low-income students from pursuing a college education. Student at community colleges may receive up to $1000 per year. Learn more about the Oakland Promise. click here

Richmond Promise

Richmond Promise seeks to make a difference in the liufe of a Richmond teen. Elifible West Contra Cotas Counsety high school graduates who resides in Richmond may receive a renewable scholarship of $1,500 per year for up to 4 years. Learn more about the Richmond Promise. click here
