I am often struck by the mysterious process of art making—how does one filter and distill one’s experience onto the paper…the canvas? Why are we compelled to draw, paint, and make objects?

I begin the process open to all possibilities, layering line and mark, covering and uncovering the surface looking for some kind of truth to reveal itself.

My studio practice is currently divided between drawing and painting and study of plant and earth pigments as art mediums.
