Jenny Lowood loves, more than anything, teaching English classes at Berkeley City College, spending time with her family, reading good literature, and writing poetry and fiction.  She received her B.A. in English literature from U.C. Berkeley and her M.A. in English literature from San Francisco State University, where she also received a Certificate in Teaching Composition.  She has taught at San Francisco State University, U.C. Berkeley, Foothill College, Sonoma State University, and Berkeley City College, and just marked her thirtieth year of teaching.  She was the chair of the B.C.C. English, ESL, and Education department for many years and, for the last five years, has been the co-chair of these departments, along with the wonderful Laurie Brion.  She has published poetry in a variety of literary journals.
