President’s Message: Thanksgiving Break

Dear Berkeley City College Community,

I have learned from many of you that your annual trips, cooking extravaganzas, and family outdoor activities are greatly impacted this year by the health pandemic. Like many of you, I would have been preparing to host my mother, my brother and his family, and my in-laws for a family day of gratitude, feasting, napping, and some variation of sports. It is not fun nor ideal to feel so restricted during this holiday season, but I do love my family and my community enough to help do my part to contain COVID-19 from spreading.

The College will be closed November 26 – 27 in observance of Thanksgiving.

I hope you will have the time and space to disconnect as much as possible. You are worthy of making time for yourself and those who help refuel you and make you laugh. I recommend naps, walks, and a good book. As for me and my family, I believe I have future dates with two kids who are interested in baking, building legos, starting the 5th book in the Harry Potter series, and s
