Professor Matthew Freeman

freeman-speakingProfessor Matthew Freeman is the Program Coordinator for Political Science at Berkeley City College (BCC).  He teaches topics in American Government, Constitutional Law, Theory, Comparative Politics and International Relations. Professor Freeman has also taught at San Francisco State University, Ohlone College and Laney College.  In 2009 he Co-Founded the BCC Institute for Civic & Community Engagement (ICCE).  Professor Freeman has been twice awarded (2011 & 2013) the University of California Chancellor’s Community Partnership Grant for his work in Civic Engagement and Service-Learning program development.  Professor Freeman was recently invited as a keynote speaker to talk about his work on Globalizing Civic Engagement & The Value of Human Rights Education at Stanford University’s Center on Democracy, Development and the Rule of Law.  Contact Information:
