Start your career working with children and families through an innovative Registered Apprenticeship program housed in the Teacher Preparation area at Berkeley City College. This integrated “earn and learn” pathway combines paid, on-the-job training with Related Supplemental Instruction (RSI) coursework taught through BCC, allowing you to build skills while progressing toward your career goals. Recognized by the U.S. Department of Labor and the California Department of Industrial Relations (DIR), Registered Apprenticeships in California are industry-vetted programs that prepare you for in-demand roles such as early childhood teacher, teacher aide, home visitor, family advocate, early interventionist, recreation worker, and more—offering a clear on-ramp to meaningful, community-centered careers.
