Berkeley's Community College

Berkeley City College is in the heart of Downtown Berkeley, located at 2050 Center St. with additional space at on the first floor of the 2000 Center St. If you are a student or a parent who’s interested in Berkeley City College, a good way to learn more is by taking a guided tour of our campus with a student ambassador. Tours last about 90 minutes and meet at the Welcome Desk on the first floor. We look forward to introducing you to our community!

Visit Us

Directions from the I-80 Highway:

  • Get on I-80 West
  • Follow I-80 W to University Ave in Berkeley.
  • Take exit 11 from I-80 W for University Ave.
  • Turn right onto University Ave (signs for Lawrence Berkeley National Lab/Graduate Theological Union/Berkeley City College/UC Berkeley).
  • Turn right onto Martin Luther King Jr Way.
  • Turn left onto Center St.
  • Your destination will be on the right.

BART

  • Take the Red line (Richmond - Millbrae) to Downtown Berkeley Station
  • Exit the station and continue down Center Street. Berkeley City College's main campus is on the left.
  • If you're coming from a different BART line, you'll need to transfer at the MacArthur, 19th Street, or 12th Street stations to board a Red line train to Richmond. Check out the Bart Trip Planner, or use your favorite Maps app.

State of the Art Classrooms and Equipment

Berkeley City College's labs and classrooms are equipped with state of the art equipment to provide you with experience you need to excel in the field. Whether you're looking for hands on chemistry and biotechnology experience in BCC's esteemed Science programs, brushing up on your Adobe software skills, photography, videography in our recognized Multimedia Art programs, or something else - you can expect to experience high quality instruction at our campus or online.

Construction is underway for the Berkeley City College West expansion building set to open in 2026. This new building will offer additional classroom, increased learning resources and community spaces, and a wellness center. Learn more about the project here.

All crimes or suspected criminal activity occurring on Berkeley City College property during office hours should be immediately reported to:

 

  • call Campus Security at (510) 981-2975
  • or by dialing ext. #2975 from any campus telephone
  • or by using the “Emergency Phones” located in the classrooms and each of the restrooms on the 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th floor and in the restrooms located in the Atrium.
  • Call 911 for Police, Fire or Medical Emergencies (from campus phones/cell phone)
