Job Description
The Intern will work on various projects to support marketing, storytelling, digital content creation, and brand promotion at Berkeley City College. The projects include producing video, photos, and graphic design elements for social media and other platforms. Interns will work together to create fun, informative, and interactive content for BCC social media platforms.
Job responsibilities can include:
- Scriptwriting and storyboarding the project in collaboration with the Public Information Office and/or programs/departments/units
- Filming video for shortform and longform formatted publications
- Operate camera, audio, and lighting
- Editing and producing video formatted for various platforms
- Developing a production schedule and meeting deadline
- Meet regularly with the internship mentor
- Work will be performed onsite at Berkeley City College and remotely up to 10 hours per week
Desired Education and Personal Attributes:
- Currently enrolled in a BCC multimedia arts and/or business program
- Minimum three skills from the list: experience with producing material for social media platforms (Instagram, TikTok, YouTube), graphic design, videography, audio recording, scriptwriting, production and post-production.
- Proficiency in using social media platforms and a basic understanding of social media management tools.
- Basic knowledge of graphic design tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Creative Suite) is a plus, but not necessary.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Perform all duties in keeping with Berkeley City College core values, policies, and all applicable regulations.
Eligibility:
- Demonstrated financial need
- Produce a resume and portfolio of work
- Part-time enrollment at minimum at Berkeley City College
- California resident
- Eligible to work in the United States
- Demonstrated satisfactory academic progress
Salary: The salary for this position is Berkeley Minimum Wage: $19.18 per hour effective July 1, 2025
