The Berkeley City College campus is closed to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

Spring 2021 classes are all online. The ESOL Department will still be offering our full schedule of credit and non-credit classes. Even though you can’t come to the building, you can still join our exciting and welcoming community and learn English for college transfer and career advancement. Student Services including Counseling, Tutoring, and the Library are also available online.

Note: Although our classes are online, you will need to be available at the times listed in the schedule so you can participate in class meetings online together with your teacher and classmates. Please consider the time zone; if you are overseas, you might want to sign up for an evening course if you want to attend morning class meetings!

Students from more than 50 countries attend our classes in order to improve their English language skills and achieve their academic, professional, and personal goals.  We offer high intermediate and advanced level classes in reading/writing, listening/speaking, and grammar, as well as elective choices such as vocabulary/Idioms and pronunciation. Classes begin three times a year, in June, August, and January.
