Due to COVID-19, we understand that many of our students are currently facing financial struggles to make ends meet. At Berkeley City College, we are proud to provide assistance for our students.
If you are facing a one-time or short term financial emergency, we may be able to help. Berkeley City College is offering limited grants to assist students who are struggling with an urgent expense that might interfere with attending school or finishing your program. The grant is a district-wide response to address emergency needs for low-income college students, including undocumented students, foster youth, non-credit, and those who are housing insecure.
Update: The Request for Emergency Aid is closed. We will open the form when funds are available. Please watch your Peralta email for updates and the Berkeley City College website. While the request is closed, we are offering other assistance below:
Free Friday Meal Distribution: We will be providing free meals between 11:30am – 2:00pm (or until we give away all meals) at the Berkeley City College campus on 2050 Center St. Berkeley, CA 94704 every Friday. We are collaborating with the Eat. Learn. Play. Foundation and the World Central Kitchen to make this happen.
Grocery Bag Distribution: In light of the current COVID-19 crisis, the Berkeley City College Food Pantry (BCCFP) is collaborating with the Berkeley Food Network (BFN) to continue distributing food for students. Students may pick up free grocery between 12 – 3pm at the Berkeley Food Network on 1001 University Ave. Berkeley, CA 94710 every Monday. This will ensure that BCC students retain the capacity to receive prepared grocery bags with food inside them.
