Matriculation Information

Matriculation holds (Enrollment Holds) are placed on all new and returning students:

  • Elementary School Students
  • Middle School Students
  • Current/Graduated High School Students
  • Another College (Outside of the Peralta District)
  • 4-Year Public/Private University
  • Vocational/Technical School

This hold will not allow matriculating student to enroll to any courses until they have taken/completed Assessment and Orientation requirements. For more information please visit the BCC Assessment and Orientation Website. Requirements include:

Assessment

Documents that provide a completion of an Assessment test score or a course completion of Math and English are needed to complete this requirement.

Allowed

  • Assessment test scores within the Peralta district
  • Assessment test scores outside the Peralta district
  • International College Transcripts (Must be transcribed to English)
  • College Transcripts (2-year/4-year colleges)
  • AP (Advance Placement)
  • IB (International Baccalaureate)
  • CLEP (College-Level Exam Program)
  • College Diploma

Disallowed

  • High School Transcript
  • SAT/ACT Scores

 

Orientation

Must be completed by all students whether they are college graduates or students who wish to only take 1 course. You may take the online orientation located at the BCC Assessment and Orientation Website or click the link provided: BCC Online Orientation

 

STEP-BY-STEP

(Students CANNOT make an appointment with a counselor without either completing or exempting from the Assessment and Orientation)

  1. Check your  Passport account: https://passport2.peralta.edu/psp/EPAPROD/EMPLOYEE/EMPL/h/?tab=PAPP_GUEST.
  2. Once logged-in, click on “Student Center” located on the left hand side of the website.
  3. The holds tab will be located on the right hand side of the Student Center and will be labeled as “Holds”.
  4. Once the hold has been verified as a Matriculation Hold, proceed with the appropriate steps below.
  5. A Enrollment hold is placed on all new or returning students attending the Peralta Community College District. More information and Assessment Scheduling are located on BCC Assessment and Orientation Website.
  6. Students may also bypass the Assessment test if they can provide a college diploma, college transcript, AP test scores, IB test Scores, CLEP Test Scores or a placement score from another Community College or University. (Placement scores must be within 3 years to be considered valid.)
  7. Students must take an online orientation whether a college graduate or a student planning to take 1 course. Students may take the online orientation through: BCC Online Orientation, ensure to print the completion page as it is needed for proof of completion.
  8. Once the Assessment & Orientation requirements are completed, students must see a college counselor in order to remove the hold on their account.
