CTE Transitions

CTE Transitions focuses on five objectives: Outreach/career exploration, articulation, concurrent enrollment, credit by exam, and work-based learning. The goal of the grant is to help CTE students’ transition from secondary to post-secondary education and on to the world of work. It is funded through the Carl D. Perkins Career and Technical Education Improvement ACT of 2006 (Perkins IV). Excitedly, at Berkeley City College (BCC), this funding has nourished the expansion of career technical education pathways between BCC and our local K-12 districts, including Albany, Berkeley, Emery, and Oakland Unified School Districts. In the last cycle of activities, CTE Transitions funded a day-long opportunity for local high school juniors and seniors, their parents, teachers, and counselors, and local businesses to visit BCC CTE courses, preview the Multimedia Arts Spring Showcase, learn about financial aid, and tour our campus. BCC was honored to align this visit with the annual Multimedia Arts Spring Showcase, which presents our students’ capstone projects to our community and the local multimedia arts sector: https://www.berkeleycitycollege.edu/blog/tag/student-showcase/ Please find a BCC Multimedia Arts video created by our Multimedia Arts faculty, studets, and staff for the high school students here:
