The Berkeley City College Visual Art Department features studio classes, art history classes, a Certificate in Figure Drawing, a Public Art program, and many talented faculty. Our studio is located on the fifth floor of Berkeley City College, in Room 514, though many art history and practice classes are given throughout the building. In the coming year, we are looking forward to great new changes, as the college build-out will include a pair of new studio spaces on the north side of the building (lots of windows), on the fourth floor. During the 2011 Spring Semester, we anticipate moving to “swing” spaces while the work is done, and our current studio is converted to a new science lab. In the fall of 2011, we anticipate occupying our new studios and storage room, more than doubling our current capacity.
