Career Advance Academy (CAA)

Careeer Advancement Academy Logo East Bay Career Advancement Academy (EBCAA) is a central component of the college’s efforts to bring low income residents into career path employment to bridge the achievement gap facing our educational system and help low income students access careers in growing regional industries, as well as public and human services. EBCAA couples contextualized basic skills with technical training and expanded support systems to increase completion, ongoing enrollment, and employment among students who typically struggle to access and succeed in higher education. For more information, please feel free to see the site of our technical assistance providers, Career Ladders Project: The two Learning Communities funded by EBCAA are Public and Human Services and PERSIST. For more information about the success of both these programs, please feel free to review data from the project’s external evaluation providers: BCC PHS EBCAA Evaluation DRAFT (please note as the grant is in the final year, we have just received our evaluation in draft form) BCC PERSIST ACE Evaluation Data Presentation This grant is funded by the California Community Colleges Economic and Workforce Development Division, provided technical assistance by the Career Ladders Project, and the Contra Costa Community College District serves as the region’s fiscal agent.
