Welceom to the Berkeley City College PTK Beta Gamma Nu Honor Society.

Membership eligibility for Phi Theta Kappa at Berkeley City College (Beta Gamma Nu) is based on the number of hours you have completed and your GPA; therefore, membership is a special honor afforded to outstanding students at Berkeley City College.

You can download the Membership Application Packet by clicking here or you can also find the applciation packet on campus in Room 241, the Office of the Vice President of Student Services. Members pay a one-time membership fee of $80 (local, regional and international fees) for enrollment in the organization on the local, regional and international levels. In order to be eligible, you must have completed at least 12 semester units in the Peralta District with at least 8 semester units at Berkeley City College and have a GPA of 3.25 or higher; you must maintain this GPA to remain a member. Once you become a member, you will be placed on our PTK yahoo group list where you will be able to communicate with other PTK members and receive meeting notifications.

Phi Theta Kappa membership guarantees you access to more benefits than any other student organization. As a member, your academic excellence will be recognized with the Golden Key Membership Pin, membership certificate and identification card, notation of membership on your diploma and transcripts and the privilege of wearing regalia at graduation that sets you apart as a Phi Theta Kappa member.  You will also gain access to information about scholarships that are available only to PTK members.

Membership in Phi Theta Kappa is an honor that will enrich your life while you attend Berkeley City College and also remain with you as you pursue other educational or career goals. We strongly recommend that you take advantage of the opportunity to join this prestigious group of scholars from over 1,200 two-year colleges across the United States, Canada and abroad. Once you become a member of Phi Theta Kappa, your Peralta transcript will indicate that you are a member of the Honor Society.

Membership also provides exclusive access to innovative benefits available to you online. Please visit the website for the national organization at www.ptk.org to see the highlights of the online benefits, which include the eScholarship Directory, listing information on scholarships designated exclusively for Phi Theta Kappa members; letters of recommendation for scholarships and employment; and press releases announcing your induction into the Society.

Again, we congratulate you on your academic achievements and encourage you to seize this valuable and rewarding opportunity. We look forward to seeing your name in the next list of the new Phi Theta Kappa members here at Berkeley City College!
