Please join us for a reading and art showing by contributors to Milvia Street 2015, Berkeley City College’s art and literary journal


Saturday, December 12 from 1-3pm


Auditorium in Berkeley City College, 2050 Center Street (1/2 block from BART and buses)


Writers include: Josiah Mackessy, Lark Omura, Bradley Penner, Sherry Wilson, Anthony Abaun, Carla Koop, Tamila Walker, Katherine Gallagher, Raymond J. Richards, Diana Arnold, Edson Ramos, Aliza Metzner, Youssef Ahalla, Patricia France, GS Scott, Evelyn Butler, and Paul Elias Taylor.


Artists are Shai Iluz, Anke Van Aardenne, Gerardo Médez, Rodolfo Perez, True Colors, Jean Phann, Lena Toney, Aurea Altamirano, Rukiya Reed, Karen Scroggs, Zoha Raad, and Susana Pineda.


It’s a free event.   Journals are just $10 and $7 for BCC students.  $5 for beautiful back issues!!!!

Beast Crawl 2015 flyerA joint Milvia Street and Poetry Flash reading (1st leg of the Crawl) will be hosted by Oakland Beast Crawl at the Awaken Cafe, 1429 Broadway (at 12th Street Bart.) on Saturday, July 11, 2015, from 5 – 6 pm.


Milvia Street readers are Blake Aarens, GS Scot and Wilfred Galila… Poetry Flash readers are Mk Chavez (who’s also appeared in Milvia Street), Eliot Schain, and Bruce Isaacson. Curated by Joyce Jenkins, Richard Silberg, and Sharon Coleman.

Milvia Street Readings in the Community

Milvia Street, Berkeley City College’s art and literary journal presents two readings by literary contributors to the 2014 issue in historical local bookstores. Our journal showcases art and literature by students, recent alumni, and a few instructors and staff. It’s edited and created by the Milvia Street club. Please come, bring a class, let students know!!!!
