Spanish Language Associate in Arts Degree Program
Spanish provides a sequential course of study which prepares students for transfer to four-year institutions with a Spanish major or acquisition of Spanish proficiency necessary for career fields which emphasize the value of familiarity with diverse cultures and global issues.
Required Courses
- SPAN 1A – Elementary Spanish, 5 units
- SPAN 1B – Elementary Spanish, 5 units
- SPAN 2A – Intermediate Spanish, 5 units
- SPAN 2B – Intermediate Spanish, 5 units
Choose one from the following courses:
- SPAN 10A – Advanced Spanish Conversation, 3 Units
- SPAN 10B – Advanced Spanish Conversation, 3 Units
- SPAN 38 - Latin American Literature, 3 units
- SPAN 40 – Hispanic Civilization and Culture, 3 units
Total minimum required units 23*
*For the Associate in Arts Degree in Spanish, students must complete the General Education pattern and elective courses for an additional 37 units
