Math 3A Calculus

Theorems on limits and continuous functions, derivatives, differentials, and applications; fundamental theorem of calculus, and applications, properties of exponential, logarithmic, and inverse trigonometric functions, and hyperbolic functions.

Student Learning Outcomes:

1. Understand the Mean Value Theorem and the Fundamental Theorem of Calculus.

2. Graph and analyze basic functions, calculate limits, and calculate the derivative using the definition of the derivative.

3. Calculate derivatives of polynomial, rational, exponential, logarithmic, and trigonometric functions using various rules; solve minimization and maximization problems; calculate basic integration problems.
