How to Apply

Step One

International Students should first contact Peralta’s Office of International Education.

All other students should first complete the Peralta Community College District Online Application. The same application is used for all four Peralta Colleges (Berkeley City College, College of Alameda, Laney College and Merritt College).

Write down your user name and password.

After 24-48 hours, your student ID number will be generated.

If you are in Berkeley, you can come pick up your number at the Information/Student Ambassadors’ Desk on the first floor, 2050 Center Street. You can also visit or call the Desk with any questions you may have:  (510) 981-2858.

Step Two

Sign up for the ESL assessment test.

Step Three

After you have your assessment test scores, meet with a counselor on the second floor for help with making a study plan and registering for classes.
