Come enjoy an evening of poetry with Susan Browne and Sharon Coleman at Pegasus Books in Downtown Berkeley on Wednesday September 1, 2010 at 7:30pm.  Sharon Coleman is the faculty member who coordinates the publication of Milvia Street, BCC’s award-winning art and literary journal.  Her poetry has appeared in many journals, and she’s a contributing editor to Poetry Flash. She teaches poetry writing and composition at BCC.  Susan Browne’s poetry has appeared widely in journals.  She’s the author of two poetry collections, Buddha’s Dogs and Zephyr, which won the Editor’s Prize at Steel Toe Books, and her poems have recently appeared on Garrison Keillor’s Writer’s Almanac and Ted Kooser’s American Life in Poetry. She teaches at Diablo Valley College.

Berkeley City College’s English major options offer a wide variety of language, literature, and writing courses to serve students with diverse goals, including transfer to U.C., C.S.U., or other four-year colleges.

Students intending to transfer to U.C. Berkeley as English majors can complete all the lower-division major preparation coursework at BCC (English 17A or B, 85A, 85B, and 85C).

Those intending to transfer to San Francisco State University as creative writing majors can complete the portal course (English 10A or B) at BCC.
