English and creative writing instructor Mary Webb, with her film-making partner Kate Mayer, recently completed Living Room Revolution: The Race Dialogues, a short documentary based on dialogues which focus on race and racism. Webb has been hosting the dialogues at her Berkeley home for the last 12 years and the project was her inaugural foray into filmmaking.
The documentary had its world premier at the International Film Festival of Cinematic Art in Los Angeles, Fri., Nov. 30, 2012. Through their pioneering work, Webb and Mayer hope to inspire people around the United States to begin dialogues on racism in their living rooms.
A Living Room Revolution screening will take place at Berkeley City College, 12-1:15 p.m., Wed., Feb. 27, in the college’s auditorium. For details about their work, visit www.livingroomrev.com
