Author, actor and activist Bill McKibben will speak on “Earth: Life on a Tough New Planet,” at 4 p.m., Sat., Apr. 14 in BCC’s auditorium, 2050 Center St., between Shattuck Ave. & Milvia St., in Berkeley.

The event is sponsored by BCC’s Global Studies Club and the “Sorrows of War/Struggles for Peace” Project, Funded by the Jerry L. Adams fund of the Berkeley Community Fund. The lecture is free and open to the public.

McKibben is one of America’s most well-known and highly respected environmental activists and an outspoken opponent of the Keystone XL pipeline which, if built, would stretch from Canada’s tar sands through the United States.
