Our Team

Xiaojia Song transfered from Berkeley City College to UC Berkeley. She is majoring in Film Studies and minoring in Korean Studies. With the passion for film and media, Xiaojia believes that film and media are the most effective ways to convey the truth and essence of life and the world to people. She would like to work in the entertainment business after she graduates. Xiaojia previously served in the BCC Service Community as a Peer Advisor. She has now chosen to continue serving this program with the experience and knowledge she gained to provide our service to a wider population within the community.

 Transfer Liaisons 

Francesca Lampert, a Bay Area native, is currently a senior studying English and minoring in Education at UC Berkeley. Previously, she attended the University of Arizona for a semester before moving to Cuesta College with the intent to transfer. Francesca is a senior writing tutor at UC Berkeley’s Student Learning Center (SLC) and facilitates a DeCal on Children’s Literature. She hopes to receive her masters in English Composition in order to continue working with community college students, both inside and outside the classroom. Francesca is excited to bring her diverse experiences together in order to best help potential transfer students accomplish their goals.

 Andrew Kodama is a current junior at UC Berkeley, studying Sociology. He attended Diablo Valley College for two years before transferring and is excited to use his experience to help guide students in achieving their transfer goals. Andrew enjoys working with people, reading, riding his bicycle, being outside and is happiest when he is deep in the mountains on an adventure. Andrew intends on obtaining a Masters Degree in Social Work and wants to pursue a career closely tied with the community in which he lives. He firmly believes that everyone deserves the support system of a strong, positive community. Andrew is a strong proponent of the benefits this can bring and knows that active participation of individuals is the key to developing such communities. He is excited for the year!

Peer Advisors  

Yoshiki is an international student from Fukuoka, Japan. His major is Business, and he would like to continue his education at UC Berkeley with a focus of international trade and marketing. He is the vice president of the International Student Association and was a student worker at Berkeley City College. The support he has received from the communities around him, especially peer advisors, motivates him to help other students to achieve their own goals and find their place at BCC and in Berkeley.

Malique Banks is a Berkeley City College student from Roseville, California. He moved to the Bay Area for a new life style and became instantly infatuated with the Bay Area's diverse cultures and unique individuals. He enrolled in the Peralta district in the Fall of 2012 with a major in business administration and plans on transferring to UC Berkeley. Malique is currently a senator in the Associated Students of BCC, and is heavily involved with the clubs on the BCC campus. He is the treasurer of the Business club, and runs a club called the Student Art Collective. Over the past year, Malique has become very familiar with the programs at BCC that can aid students on and off campus.

She is currently a student ambassador, a peer advisor, and a member of the international student association at Berkeley City College. She is very familiar with the directory of Berkeley City College, due to her work as an ambassador. She would like to help more students like herself that struggle with the school system and lacked the knowledge of resources on campus. She knows the demands, so she provides the supplies.
