freeman-speakingProfessor Matthew Freeman is the Program Coordinator for Political Science at Berkeley City College (BCC). He teaches topics in American Government, Constitutional Law, Theory, Comparative Politics and International Relations. He has also taught topics in California Politics and Post-Modern Political thought at San Francisco State University, Ohlone College and Laney College.  In 2009 he Co-Founded the BCC Institute for Civic & Community Engagement (ICCE). Professor Freeman has twice been awarded the University of California Chancellor’s Community Partnership Grant (2011 & 2013) and recently spoke about his work on Globalizing Civic Engagement & The Value of Human Rights Education at Stanford University’s Center on Democracy, Development and the Rule of Law.

Professor Charlotte Lee teaches topics in Comparative Politics, International Relations, and Global Studies. She previously taught at Hamilton College (Department of Political Science) and was a Minerva Chair at the US Air Force Academy (Department of Political Science). She received her Ph.D. in Political Science from Stanford University, where she was a National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellow. She was a John Gardner Public Service Fellow and US Peace Corps Volunteer (assigned to Romania). Her most recent publication is Training the Party: Adaptation and Elite Training in Reform-era China (Cambridge University Press, 2015). She is the Program Coordinator for Global Studies at Berkeley City College.

Professor Marge Haskell is a Professor of Political Science at Berkeley City College.  She teaches courses in American Government and Constitutional Law.  Professor Haskell is an Attorney at Law, has her own private practice and has litigated hundreds of civil and criminal cases.  Professor Haskell has also served as an elected member of the Oakland City Council.  Contact Information:
